STUDIO TRAINING

Hands-on training aimed at those with little or no experience of the studio environment or the range
of equipment and effects likely to be encountered. Especially suited for less experienced or aspiring
photographers, either mobile or studio based, and minilab owners seeking to establish small studios
as part of their business. Clients will be expected to have good working knowledge of their own cameras for studio sessions.

Training is arranged on either a 1-1 basis, or small groups if required, and the topics covered are varied as clients wish.

EXAMPLE COURSES:

Mr CT had done a lot of camera work as an amateur assisting a wedding photographer, and wanted to set his own studio up. He spent a day with us covering the different types of background, managing backgrounds, lighting management, and general studio workflow. This was followed up with a Consultancy visit, leading to the founding of a steadily growing studio.

Mr PJ had taken early retirement from teaching, but had trained as a photographer soon after leaving school. He used a day to re-acquaint himself with modern flash lighting, high key techniques and studio set ups. Half the day was devoted to looking at the equipment, and the other half was spent in a practical studio session using posing kits, props, backgrounds and lights together.

Mr RT had purchased a 2 head studio flash kit, but didnt feel confident enough to use it on his own or to know what additional items would be most useful.. A day was spent with a model using different light attachments with both his own kit and ours, and demonstrating various lighting patterns and effects. The model was hired on a Part Pay basis, getting new material for her portfolio.

All levels can be catered for - please discuss what you need to get out of a day with us, and we will endeavour to lay it on for you.

Cost
As a guide, the charge will be £150 per full day including lunch, or £85 per half day: However, this may be varied depending on the content required.
All charges are due before sessions start.
If we agree that it is appropriate to hire a model, we are happy to make arrangements with a local model, but you will be responsible for the cost: We are in touch with several less experienced models that will work for pictures only, or on a part paid basis: However it should not be expected that these models will work to any more than swimwear level.
Payments may be by cheque, cash or credit card.
